Dr. Rolf Stomberg, Chairman of the German Advisory Board and current Chairman of Lanxess AG as well as Non Executive Director of Hoyer GmbH, Biesterfeld AG, Smith & Nephew, Francotyp Postalia Holding AG and Severstal. Former Chairman of The Management Consulting Group, he has served on the boards of Scania AB, Reed Elsevier Group Plc, Unipoly Holdings Limited, TNT NV and Cordiant Communications Group. An oil industry veteran, he worked for BP plc for 30 years, latterly as Chief Executive of the Shipping, Refining and Marketing business segment. With a PhD in economics from Universität Hamburg, he is visiting Professor of Imperial College Management School and honorary professor at the Institut Français de Petrol.

Mr. Detlef Braun, current Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt GmbH as well as member of the board of management. Previously, he was Chairman and CEO of J Walter Thompson Communications Group, Frankfurt and member of the European Board and before that Managing Director of Wünsche AG. With a distinguished background in marketing, Detlef has held senior marketing positions at Joh. A. Benckiser GmbH (part of the Lancaster Worldwide Group, Paris) as well as for the Philip Morris Companies where he held various position across Germany, Tokyo and New York. He holds a degree from the European Business School, Schloss Reichartshausen.

Prof. Manfred Maus, is the Managing Partner of GridInternational Deutschland. He co-founded OBI, the DIY retailer, serving as its Chief Executive Officer until 2000. A specialist with over 30 years’ experience in the franchise business, he pioneered franchising in Germany, co-founding the German and European Franchise Association, where he served as President. He is currently Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Heimwerkermarkt Holding GmbH, Director of SMT GmbH and a Member of Supervisory Board of Aral Management AG of Aral AG. Previous board positions include Chairman of the Supervisory Board of OBI, Non-Executive Director of Treveria plc (also known as Dawnay Day Treveria) and Director of EMIL LUX GmbH & Co. KG, Deutsche Heimwerkermarkt Holding GmbH and OBI Franchise-Center GmbH & Co. KG. A former Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce in Cologne, he has also been awarded the German Franchise First Prize in addition to several other awards. He studied business administration.

Dr. Ulrich Middelmann, is the former Vice Chairman of the Board of Management of ThyssenKrupp AG and is well-regarded for his 40 years of experience in the iron and steel industry. He began his career with the Microeconomics Institute of the Iron and Steel Industry in Dusseldorf before progressing to the Krupp Group and now serves as a member of various supervisory boards and advisory councils including Commerzbank AG, Deutsche Telekom AG, LANXESS AG and Hoberg & Driesch GmbH. Professor Middelmann studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Darmstadt and business administration at the Rhine-Westphalian University in Aachen. He received both his doctorate in economics and an honorary doctorate in mechanical engineering from Ruhr University in Bochum, and was awarded an honorary professorship by the University of Tongji in Shanghai.
